My Story

Marco early days

I was born in Rome, Italy. I grew up surrounded by ancient buildings, delicious food, and loud, friendly people. Life in Rome was busy but beautiful.

After high school, I tried going to university because that’s what everyone expected. I sat in big classrooms listening to long lectures, but it just didn’t feel right for me. After a year, I made a big decision – I wanted to discover the world and its cultures.

I always spent my money on flight tickets, so when I had a chance I flew to Central America and South East Asia. Down there I feel people are still very close to their traditions and I could learn healing practices that the modern world is ignoring.

That was my passion!

When I was ready to settle abroad, I wanted to get an education that would support me anywhere so I enrolled in an Hotel Management Associate study course and after 2 years I was off to Australia, I needed something different.

I spent the years after, exploring the globe, sailing remote islands in the South East and learning Yoga and ancient Breathwork techniques from Gurus and Swamis.

Marco Surfing

Once I was done with traveling and I finally went back to Italy, my family and I moved to the Canary Islands, a small archipelago off the coast of Western Africa.

I was glad to be able to continue my journey with Health and Nature in such a  beautiful setting with the most perfect waves you can imagine, so I started surfing.

What started as a hobby quickly became my life. I got better and better at surfing until locals started asking me for tips. Soon, I got certified as a surf instructor and began teaching full-time. I spent my days in the water, helping people from all over the world catch their first waves.

I loved watching the joy on people’s faces when they stood up on a board for the first time. Some days I taught scared kids who became brave by the end of the lesson. Other days I helped older folks cross “learn to surf” off their bucket lists. My skin got tan, my hair turned lighter, and I was the happiest I’d ever been.

Ultimately I was able to manage and oversee operations of the Surf Camp I was working for, that gave me the opportunity to use my skills in management and open doors to a career in the tourism industry and the world was my oyster.

But after a decade, I started feeling restless. I loved surfing, but I wondered what else was out there for me. I decided to return to Indonesia to partner up with a long time friend, overseeing the Guests Experiences aspect of a large Yoga and Meditation Retreat.

In Bali, during a beach bonfire party, I met Olivia. She was a southern California volunteer visiting Bali to help children. We started talking about travel and adventure, and something just clicked between us. Over the next few months, we explored Indonesia and Malaysia together and fell in love.

When Olivia’s trip was ending, we faced a choice. I wasn’t ready to say goodbye, so when she suggested I come back to America with her, I said yes. The transition was big, but California had great waves and friendly people, so it felt right.

Marco Working

We got married on a beautiful California beach. A few years later, we had two wonderful daughters who filled our home with laughter and energy.

Here I found my true inspiration and the chance to express myself, I started studying again and I specialized in Mystical Bodywork Techniques, Corrective Exercise Training and Contrast Therapy.

Most of the work I do with my clients comes in a very natural way, almost automatic.

I have a European background that combined with what I learn around the world, finds its perfect place in such a Health Conscious community here in Southern California.

My journey from Rome to California wasn’t a straight line, but every turn led me where I needed to be. I’ve learned that sometimes the best things happen when you leave the expected path behind.
