PEMF Frequency Chart (updated Jan 2026)
📈 PEMF Frequency Chart
This is the most complete PEMF frequency chart you will ever find. It includes all commonly used frequencies for all conditions treated with Pulse Electromagnetic Field Therapy.
I’m Marco Gentile, a wellness professional with over a decade of experience guiding clients toward better health and longevity. These days, you can find me at the Burke SPA & Wellness Center in Los Angeles.
PEMF research is still pretty new, and future studies will probably teach us even more. For now, it seems like both the frequency and treatment protocol play important roles in determining therapeutic outcomes. If you own a PEMF mat, you can just check the frequency you need and start your treatment today.
If you are unsure whether PEMF has been scientifically proven to benefit any of the conditions in the list, check my article where I have debunked all the PEMF Mat Benefits!

⁉️ PEMF Frequency Chart: Additional Information
⌛Treatment Duration
PEMF sessions are usually 20-30 minutes long, but the duration can depend on things like the condition being treated, the power of your device, and your body’s sensitivity.
A shorter session might be enough for some issues, while others may need longer.
Since these factors vary, I didn’t include specific session times in the PEMF frequency chart—it’s best to adjust based on what feels right for you or consult with a professional.
💪 PEMF Intensity
When it comes to PEMF, intensity (measured in gauss) isn’t always the most important factor. Most devices reach around 2 gauss, which is plenty for most treatments.
While higher intensities can be useful for deeper conditions, 2 gauss works fine for most people. It’s more about the right frequency and consistency, so you don’t have to stress over getting the highest intensity for effective results.
⚡PEMF Waveforms
There aren’t many studies out there on the best waveforms to use with PEMF, mainly because most research focuses on PEMF as a whole, not the specific waveforms.
Different waveforms, like square or sine waves, can affect the body in different ways, but there’s no clear answer yet on which one works best for certain conditions.
Until more studies are done, it’s mostly trial and error, and we rely on what’s worked for people rather than concrete research. So that’s the reason why I haven’t included waveforms in the PEMF frequency chart.
| Waveform | Use/Effectiveness |
|---|---|
| Sawtooth | Promising for holistic and cellular resonance; patents on some devices. May enhance ion transport and cellular resonance. |
| Square | Effective for rapid stimulation; widely used for bone healing, nerve regeneration, and enhancing osteoblast proliferation. |
| Sine | Basic waveform with less abrupt stimulation. Often favored for its purity and used for general therapeutic purposes. |
| Triangle | Less commonly studied; intermediate effects, may be used in some general PEMF treatments. |
| Rectangular | Used in some devices for various therapeutic purposes; limited comparative data available. |
🙋FAQs
Most people can safely use PEMF therapy, but there are key exceptions. If you have implanted electronics like pacemakers or insulin pumps, or if you’re expecting a baby, you’ll need to skip PEMF treatments due to safety concerns. Want the full picture on who should and shouldn’t use PEMF? My complete safety guide covers all the details.
Absolutely, PEMF therapy can be effective for dogs when applied correctly. Always consult your vet before starting treatment and make sure you’re using a device designed specifically for animals. Plenty of dogs show better movement and reduced discomfort after sessions.
