Phymat Company History

The company behind Phymat is Shenyang Zhongkang Electric Padding Co., Ltd., and it says it moved into healthcare in 2018, although its US trademark records first use in 2019. The factory is in Shenyang on purpose: the jade, tourmaline and obsidian in the mats come from that region, and the city was an early manufacturing base for Korean infrared mats.

That location is also their answer to why the mats cost so little. Building next to the raw materials, they say, cuts both material and labour costs. The mats are made in China, US orders ship from a warehouse in Phoenix, and there is local stock in Europe, the UK, Canada and Australia. UK sales run through a London company, TELOS TRADING LIMITED.

No. Phymat holds no FDA registration and no clearance. What it publishes is CE under the EMC and Low Voltage directives and an FCC emissions test by Shenzhen BCTC, and each certificate states it applies only to the sample that was tested.

Those are electrical safety and interference standards. They say nothing about whether the therapy works.

Shenyang Zhongkang Electric Padding Co., Ltd., a heating mat factory in Shenyang, in northeast China. It owns the PHYMAT trademark in the US, registration 6002071, granted in March 2020.

UK sales are handled by a London company, TELOS TRADING LIMITED.

It has a registered US trademark, published CE and FCC test certificates, a US warehouse in Phoenix, and a 3.9 on Trustpilot from 21 reviews. Scamadviser rates the website very likely legitimate.

One thing worth knowing. The UK company named on their site, TELOS TRADING LIMITED, was only incorporated in April 2025, and the same company name and address appear on the contact pages of several unrelated online shops.

Their own explanation is the factory. It sits in Shenyang, near where the gemstones are mined, which they say cuts both material and labour costs.

The trade off shows in the PEMF: four coils, no frequency or intensity control, and no preset programs.

Mostly comfort. The mat is rigid, and two separate reviewers put a topper underneath to make lying flat bearable. One unit tripped a circuit breaker and was refunded, one buyer on an island paid customs on top of shipping, and one says a return was resisted.

The worst review is a UK buyer who says every email bounced after she paid. Phymat replied months later that it is operating normally. Their replies to negative reviews typically take more than a month.

Direct, or from an authorised retailer. Their 2 year warranty explicitly covers authorised retailers on any platform, as long as you keep proof of purchase, and it transfers if the mat is a gift.

Returns are 30 days either way, and if you simply change your mind, the return shipping comes out of your refund.
