Nushape Company History

In 2015 Jessica Charles was working with clients in her Santa Barbara practice, and they kept asking her for something short of liposuction. She built one of the early professional red light panels, then found she could not travel with it. So she sold most of what she owned to fund a wearable version, and in 2016 the LipoWrap came out. Nushape grew from that one product.

Ten years on, the range runs from wraps and mats to a headband, masks, saunas, supplements and skincare, sold under the Nushape, LED Phototherapies, NeuroWrap and Cellf names across several sites. The company is Nushape LLC, and orders ship from warehouses in Pennsylvania and Vermont. The brand names and the patent applications are filed in the founder’s own name rather than the company’s.

They claimed the profile in November 2022, pay for a Trustpilot subscription, invite customers to review, and have answered 100% of the negative ones, usually within a day. Almost all of it is about the Lipo Wrap rather than the mats.

Nushape FAQ

No. Their own privacy policy says the products are low-risk general wellness devices that do not require FDA clearance, and that nothing on the site has been evaluated by the FDA. They publish no CE, FCC, RoHS or ISO certificate either.

Their company page on LinkedIn describes the technology as using FDA approved red LED light. That contradicts what their own site says, so treat it as marketing rather than a clearance.

Jessica Charles, who founded it in 2015 out of her Santa Barbara practice. Their terms name the company as Nushape LLC and their FAQ says it is a Delaware company.

BBB records something different: a sole proprietorship with one employee, owned by Jessica Iverson. The trademarks and the patent applications are filed in that name too, personally rather than under a company.

Yes. It has been trading a decade, has 1,032 Trustpilot reviews at 4.8, holds an A+ from BBB, ships from two US warehouses and appears in Equinox treatment rooms.

The gaps are worth knowing. No certifications are published, no patent has been granted despite the claim, and its BBB file records a one-person sole proprietorship rather than the LLC named in its terms.

Two. The Infrared PEMF Mat at $1,200, which runs 1 to 50 Hz across 8 programs, and the Cellf Multi-Therapy Mat at $1,899, with 25 coils on a square wave. The Therapy Wrap Pulse and the NeuroPulse headband also have PEMF, in wearable form.

The Therapy Mat and the LipoMat are light only, with no PEMF, even though one of their other sites lists the Therapy Mat as a Multi Therapy Mat. Check which one you are ordering.

Three things, from their BBB file. Emails going unanswered, which the company blamed on a change of help desk software that lost tickets. Warranty replacements held up for weeks by backorders. And devices failing not long after the one year warranty ends.

Against that, their Trustpilot record is one of the strongest on this site, and they answer every negative review there, usually within a day.

Direct. They also appear on Amazon and eBay, and a third party seller sets its own returns, while the warranty needs proof of purchase either way.

One practical point: the mats are built for 110 to 130 volt outlets, and running one on European voltage voids the warranty.
