Celler8 Red Light Therapy Panel Review: I Thought It Was Overpriced… Until I Used It

Celler8 Red Light Therapy Full Body Panel Review

Welcome to my review of the Celler8 Red Light Therapy Full Body Panel! After using it for a while, I realized pretty quickly that the results you get from red light therapy really depend on the device you’re using, since some panels just don’t deliver much.

This panel stood out to me because the tech feels on par with what you’d find in a good clinic, which isn’t something I see often. While trying it out, I ran into a mix of things I expected and a few nice surprises, so I figured it was worth sharing my experience in case you’re thinking about getting one.

Red Light Therapy Overview

The Celler8 Full Body panel has one of the best, if not “the best” red light therapy technology out there. It packs 840 LEDs that can generate 7 wavelengths, which is something no other panel can do. You can adjust the intensity from 1% to 100% and choose continuos or pulsed light at your desired frequency. And you’ve got 8 fans to avoid overheating. It’s one of the more comprehensive options out there if you’re looking for top-tier red light technology.

Wavelength Overview

Using the same wavelength repeatedly might lead to your body adapting to it, which could reduce effectiveness over time. That’s why having 7 different wavelengths is very beneficial. No other panel has so many wavelengths available, and this is the only one featuring blue and deep infrared light, in addition to the usual red and near-infrared.

  • 480nm (Blue Light) – The blue light wavelength targets skin health, particularly helpful for blemishes and keeping your complexion more balanced. It’s a nice addition if you’re dealing with occasional breakouts or uneven skin tone.
  • 630nm & 660nm (Red Light) – These red wavelengths penetrate into the skin to boost collagen production and circulation while speeding up healing. I’ve focused on these for skin related sessions, and they’re the go to options if you’re targeting surface level benefits like fine lines or recovery.
  • 810nm, 830nm & 850nm (Near-Infrared Light – NIR) – The NIR wavelengths go deeper than red light, reaching into tissues, muscles, and joints. These are what you’d use for recovery work or managing discomfort in deeper areas. I’ve used them after workouts, and they seem to help with soreness and stiffness.d reducing pain.
  • 940nm (Deep Near-Infrared Light) – This is the deepest penetrating wavelength in the lineup. It works at a cellular level to improve oxygen delivery, circulation, and nerve function. Good for targeting issues that go beyond surface or muscle level.

Red light therapy LED's icon

The 840 LEDs on the Celler8 Panel are evenly distributed, so you get consistent coverage. You can choose to run just the red wavelengths, just the near infrared, or both together. The LEDs use single-chip technology, meaning each LED is assigned to a specific wavelength and only emits that one. It’s simpler technology than dual or quad-chip, but it gets the job done and also delivers higher power output per LED.

Frequency Icon

You can pick between two modes here. Continuous mode keeps the light steady through your whole session, which is the standard approach that’s been tested and works. Pulsed mode turns the light on and off at a specific rhythm (you can decide the frequency) and some studies say this might give you additional benefits. You can select some preset frequencies (2.5/4/7/10/73/293/587/1147 Hz) or just dial in your desired one (1 to 10000 Hz).

Irrandiance at 6 Inches Icon

The irradiance measures how much light actually hits your skin, measured in milliwatts per square centimetre. The higher it is, the more energy your body gets in less time. So if you stand closer to the panel, you get a stronger dose, and if you move back, the light spreads out and the intensity drops.

Light Dimmer Feature Icon

You can adjust the brightness anywhere from 1% to 100%. Higher settings are more effective, but it’s smart to start around 20% and work your way up over your first few sessions. Everyone’s skin reacts differently, so building up gradually helps you find what works without overdoing it early on. I started lower and increased over time, which felt like the right approach.

Beam Angle Feature Icon

The LEDs on the Celler8 RLT Panel are set at a 30 degree angle, which means each one overlaps with the next. This gives you better coverage compared to a narrower beam that would only hit a smaller area. More overlap means more effective sessions since you’re getting consistent exposure across your body instead of just targeted spots.

The Celler8 RLT Panel comes with a motorized stand that’s fully adjustable, which is pretty essential for a panel this size. You also get eye protection glasses with a case and cleaning cloth. Everything you need to get started is in the box, so you’re not hunting for accessories separately.

Height and Positioning: One thing I really like about this stand is how adjustable it is. The motorized system lets you move it anywhere from 78cm up to 166.5cm with just a button press, no manual cranking involved. You’ve got two control options: the main unit with simple up/down buttons, or a secondary controller where you can actually save up to four preset heights. I’ve programmed in a couple of my go-to positions, and it’s nice not having to adjust it from scratch every time.

Adjustable 180 degree rotating stand for red light therapy wellness panel

The panel itself rotates a full 180 degrees, so you can use it vertically while standing or flip it horizontal for lying down sessions. I switch between both depending on what I’m targeting, and that flexibility is genuinely useful.

Mobility: The built-in wheels make it surprisingly easy to move around. I’ve rolled mine between rooms a few times without any hassle—it glides smoothly and locks securely when you’re ready to use it. It’s one of those practical touches that makes daily use more convenient.

These glasses block wavelengths from 480nm to 940nm, which covers everything the panel emits. I’ve found they make sessions more comfortable on the eyes without dimming the effectiveness of the panel. If the brightness bothers you, they’re a solid addition to have. They are included with your purchase, at no extra cost.

The case keeps your eye protection glasses safe when you’re not using them. It’s a simple protective case that prevents scratches and keeps things organized. Nice to have so the glasses don’t end up tossed somewhere or damaged between sessions.

What distinguishes the Celler8 RLT Panel from other options?

Explore my comprehensive comparison guide featuring the best Red-Light Therapy panels available today. Each panel is evaluated based on cost, warranty coverage, included accessories, feature set, therapeutic options, and core technology.

Can I trust Celler8 as a reputable brand?

Absolutely, Celler8 maintains a solid standing as a credible wellness brand. Check out my thorough Celler8 analysis page for additional insights, or head directly to their official site.

Does a whole-body system outperform compact units?

Your goals determine the best choice. Whole-body systems provide extensive coverage, ideal for efficient sessions and comprehensive wellness support. Compact units excel when targeting particular zones—think facial care, scalp treatment, or addressing localized muscle discomfort.

Can Red Light Therapy address my health concern?

Absolutely. Rather than targeting particular ailments, this therapy operates at the cellular foundation of healing. Near-infrared and red wavelengths penetrate tissue layers, activating cellular energy production through ATP enhancement while simultaneously decreasing inflammatory responses and optimizing blood flow. The result? Enhanced recovery mechanisms, diminished discomfort, and elevated wellness—whether you’re managing dermatological issues, muscular strain, joint concerns, exhaustion, or simply pursuing peak vitality. These advantages rest on solid evidence. However, navigating online information means encountering inflated promises and aggressive promotion. My research separates genuine effectiveness from exaggerated expectations.

Does the FDA approve Red Light Therapy devices?

Beginning in 2002, FDA clearances have been granted for red light equipment across multiple applications, initially for alleviating minor joint and muscle discomfort, arthritic conditions, muscle spasms, and circulation enhancement. By 2003, approvals extended to reducing stiffness and promoting muscle relaxation, then carpal tunnel intervention in 2009, alopecia management in 2010, osteoarthritic knee pain in 2013, and since 2018 for diminishing wrinkles, accelerating wound closure, and aiding post-cosmetic-procedure recovery.

Is it safe to place your body on the Panel?

Not recommended. This equipment wasn’t built for that purpose. Maintain the unit on its included stand or door-mounted bracket.

What spacing requirements exist for red light exposure?

Maintain at least 3 inches clearance from the device. Optimal effectiveness occurs within the 4-8 inch range.

Should I remove clothing for therapy sessions?

Optimal outcomes require direct skin contact, as fabric barriers significantly obstruct light penetration. Primary benefits manifest where illumination directly contacts tissue, although certain systemic advantages may arise through enhanced mitochondrial activity and vascular function. This explains why comprehensive panel systems deliver superior overall coverage, whereas targeted devices prove advantageous for zone-specific applications.

Are there safety concerns with Red Light Therapy?

When following guidelines, this treatment proves remarkably safe. Contrasting with ultraviolet exposure, it avoids DNA harm or burning by employing gentle, non-ionizing wavelengths. Adverse reactions remain uncommon—typically only slight warmth or temporary skin reddening from excessive proximity or prolonged exposure. Reputable equipment undergoes EMF testing and satisfies safety benchmarks, enabling confident home or clinical application.

Exercise caution, though, under these circumstances:

  • Expecting mothers: Obtain healthcare provider clearance before beginning red light treatments.
  • Light sensitivity disorders: Seek medical consultation for photosensitive conditions or if taking medications increasing light sensitivity.
  • Current skin malignancies: Refrain from applying red light directly to cancerous regions without professional guidance.
  • Seizure conditions or epilepsy: Intense illumination could provoke sensitivity reactions; secure medical approval beforehand.
  • Eye conditions or recent ocular procedures: Prevent direct LED eye exposure and employ protective eyewear when appropriate.
How does this affect tattoo ink?

Tattoo pigments remain unaffected by red light therapy. Differing from ultraviolet rays, it poses no risk to ink stability and may actually benefit skin surrounding new or existing tattoos. The treatment supports inflammation reduction, accelerates tissue repair, and enhances dermal wellness, allowing worry-free use without compromising tattoo vibrancy.
