Welcome to my review of the Grooni 4 in 1 PEMF Mat! Some PEMF mats try to be everything to everyone. The Grooni Wellness Mat doesn’t pretend to be revolutionary. It just aims to check all the right boxes without breaking the bank, and I wanted to see if it actually does.
What caught my attention was the 108 full-sized tourmaline gemstones and the 36 red light LEDs, in a mat that’s surprisingly affordable. After testing it, I found more or less what I expected. It’s a solid, no-nonsense mat, and it’s good value for the money.

Reading the Spec Sheet
1-100HzPEMF Frequency Range
PEMF frequency tells you how many cycles the magnetic field completes every second, and it’s counted in hertz (Hz). The Grooni Mat goes from 1 to 100 Hz. That’s a very wide range and great technology, and you’re covered for every treatment and condition.
0.5-3.5GaussPEMF Intensity Range
PEMF intensity is the strength of the magnetic field that the device puts out, and you measure it in Gauss. On the Grooni Mat it goes up to 3.5 Gauss. This is a low intensity, fine for daily use and for treatment, and very safe.
12PEMF Coils
A coil is copper wire wound into a loop inside the mat, and it generates the pulsed field when the controller powers it, so it’s hardware, not a setting. How many of them there are tells you about coverage, not power: a mat with more coils isn’t any stronger, but its field covers the surface more evenly.
SinusoidalWaveform
The waveform is the shape each pulse takes over time, and it decides how fast the field rises and how fast it falls. This mat produces a sinusoidal wave, where the field rises and falls in a smooth, rounded curve.

This is a gentle, non-invasive therapy that uses far-infrared light (5-14 μm). You can’t see that wavelength, but it slowly warms up the gemstones and the mat. The heat then penetrates deep into the body, and you feel the warmth from the inside.
Red Light Therapy

Red light therapy isn’t the same as far-infrared, as it uses visible red light at a wavelength of 0.66 μm. Unlike FIR it doesn’t generate heat, but goes through the skin, where it gets the cells more active and helps keep the tissue healthy.

Everything else on this page can be measured, and what comes next can’t. None of it will tell you whether the Grooni 4 in 1 PEMF Mat is a good mat. What it might tell you is whether you’ll still be using it a year from now, and that’s the question worth asking.

You run the Grooni 4 in 1 PEMF Mat from an external controller. It lets you adjust frequency, heat, and the length of the session, and set up the treatment the way you want it.

The Grooni digital controller lets you regulate the frequency by pressing the plus and minus buttons. You can set it to any value up to 100 Hz.
Intensity control
ONLY VIA PRESET PROGRAMS
You cannot regulate the intensity here, but the preset programs use different intensities, from 0.5 to 3.5 Gauss, so you still have some control.

The controller has a nice set of preset programs. There are 4 wellness goals, and each one has several subprograms, for a total of 13. Each one works on a specific frequency range, so you can be more precise about what a session is for.

My FInal verdict
The Grooni Wellness 4 in 1 PEMF Mat is an affordable choice that gives you everything you need. This mat doesn’t really excel at anything in particular, but it checks all the boxes.
You get PEMF together with far-infrared heat, red light, negative ions and hot stones. It has a nice design, and the full-sized tourmaline gemstones are a big plus.
The set of presets programs is really good, and it ranks #3 in my best PEMF mat list for pain relief. That’s mostly due to the specific program it has.
You don’t really have to give up any extras if you buy this mat. The 2-year warranty with a 30-day return policy is fair, but nothing special. For what it costs, I think that’s easy enough to live with. In the end the value for money is pretty good, and that makes it a solid choice.
