Welcome to my review of the PetsPEMF RollnRest pad for pets. It turns on by itself as soon as your pet gets near it. It costs less than most other pads for pets, and it adds a dedicated pad that any pet can use.

You get three sizes and three cover patterns, so you can pick the combination that fits your pet best. From a kitten to a Great Dane, you’re covered. Let’s see everything this PEMF system can do.

Reading the Spec Sheet

1-50HzPEMF Frequency Range

The PEMF frequency is how many times per second the magnetic field pulses, and it’s measured in hertz. The RollnRest pad runs from 1 to 50 Hz. That is a wide range, about as good as it gets in a home system, and it covers every treatment and condition PEMF is used for.

The RollnRest pad runs from 0.87 to 3.8 Gauss, which a low intensity, perfecto for general wellness.

4-15PEMF Coils

A coil is a winding of copper wire inside the mat, and it’s what produces the magnetic field of the pad. A higher number means the field is better distributed over the surface of the pad. The RollnRest pad has 4 to 15 coils depending on the size you choose.

TrapezoidalWaveform

The waveform is the shape of each pulse plotted over time, and it sets how quickly the field climbs and how quickly it drops away. The RollnRest dog pad uses a trapezoidal wave, which climbs fast, holds flat at the top for a moment, and then falls just as fast.

The pad is light, and so is the control unit. The pad can be rolled, secured with straps and put in its bag, which PetsPEMF provides.

Versatility

Good

There’s only a limited set of presets, and it’s PEMF only. But this pad isn’t for dogs only, you can use it too, so you have many options.

Very High

The pad is soft and very comfortable. I can’t tell directly, but all dogs I’ve seen on this pad seem to be quite satisfied by the experience.

PetsPEMF RollnRest Pad Functions and Controls

You control the RollnRest pad from the PetsPEMF app, which connects to the unit over bluetooth. There are 4 ready-made programs covering pretty much every kind of PEMF treatment.

The control unit has a motion sensor built in, called PIR Sensor. I think it’s one of the smartest things in the whole system. Whenever your dog get on the pad it switches itself on, and it turns off whenever it leaves. That is what makes the device unique, as it’s the only PEMF device you can set up and then forget about it.

My FInal verdict

It’s absolutely worth it. In fact, it’s one of the best devices you can get for PEMF therapy on your dog or cat. It’s also very good for humans, because yes, you can use it too, and that makes the value for money just incredible.
The PetsPEMF app is complete and lets you fully customize the treatment. The warranty and return policies are more than fine. They are above the industry average.
You can pick the design you like and the size that fits your dog’s breed, and extra covers are available too, so you can use one while the other is in the washing machine. Overall, I cannot recommend thie RollnRest enough. It’s my personal favorite when it comes to PEMF for dogs.

It compares well, mostly because it isn’t quite the same kind of product. Nearly every PEMF pad for dogs is a flat pad you slip into the bed your dog already has. The RollnRest is the bed itself, 2.4 inches of orthopedic and cooling foam with the coils inside, plus a control unit that can also run by itself and a motion sensor that starts the program when your dog lies down. On the therapy side you get four presets and the bed delivers 0.87 to 3.8 Gauss. Where it gives some ground is that it has to stay plugged in, since there is no battery. Yes, as far as I can tell. PetsPEMF is run by MDCN Tech in Ljubljana, Slovenia, the same company behind OmniPEMF, and the RollnRest is one of three PEMF devices they make for pets, next to the Pad and the PetLoop PRO, so it isn’t a first attempt. The device is made in Europe, carries the CE mark and Intertek’s ETL safety mark, meets FCC Part 15 and has been tested to the IEC 60601-1-2 standard for electromagnetic compatibility. You also get a 30 day return window and a two year warranty on top, so if yours turns out to have a problem, you are covered either way. One thing to know before you order: returns of the RollnRest carry a 10% fee, because some parts of the bed can’t be resold. That depends on what you are treating, and the RollnRest has done most of the choosing for you. There are four presets. Pain Relief runs at 50.6 and 15.2 Hz and is the one for arthritis, joint pain and older dogs. Stress Relief runs at 4 and 6 Hz, for anxious dogs, storms, travel and separation. Accelerated Healing runs at 15.2 and 40.5 Hz, for recovery after surgery or a wound. Integrated Healing strings the pain and healing patterns together, for dogs with more than one problem. You pick the program in the app, and from then on a single press of the button on the control unit repeats it. The presets are listed at 30 minutes and you can change the length in the app. PetsPEMF suggests at least 30 minutes a session, once or twice a day for general wellness, and two to four sessions a day in the first week or two of a chronic problem like arthritis.
