In this review I’m taking a look at the Therasage TheraPro PEMF Mat, the mat that claims to do it all.
It’s not your typical PEMF mat. Therasage put six therapies in it, and one of them is something no other mat has: TENS therapy. Then there’s full spectrum infrared, gemstones, and 9 preset programs. On paper, it’s the Swiss Army knife of wellness mats.
But does putting every therapy in one device actually work better, or does it just complicate things? My Therasage TheraPro PEMF Mat review looks at whether this all in one approach gives you real results, or just fancy marketing.

Reading the Spec Sheet
3-64HzPEMF Frequency Range
The frequency is how many times per second the magnetic field goes through a full cycle, and it’s measured in hertz. The TheraPro runs from 3 to 64 Hz. That’s a very wide range, which tells you the technology is great, and there’s no treatment or condition it can’t cover.
??GaussPEMF Intensity
The intensity is the strength of the magnetic field the mat puts out, and it’s measured in gauss. Therasage declares 1100 Gauss, which is very high, and not possible on a sinusoidal wave on a domestic plug.
6PEMF Coils
A coil is copper wire wound up inside the mat, and when the controller sends current through it, that’s what creates the pulsed field, so it’s a physical part and not a setting. More coils don’t make the mat stronger, but they spread the field more evenly across the whole surface, and the TheraPro has 6 of them.
Sinusoidal or SquareWaveform
The waveform is the shape the pulse takes over time, and that shape decides how fast the field builds up and how fast it dies down. The TheraPro lets you choose between two: sinusoidal, where the field climbs and comes back down in a smooth curve, and square, where it switches on and off with nothing in between.

Heating / Far Infrared Rays Therapy (FIR)

It’s a natural therapy, nothing invasive: the mat uses invisible infrared light to warm the gemstones and the mat itself, up to 158°F (69°C). As the mat warms up, the heat works on your body from the inside out. What makes the TheraPro a bit different is that it uses the full spectrum of infrared, so all three wavelengths: near (NIR), mid (MIR) and far (FIR). Each one has its own benefits, and here you get all of them together.
Red Light Therapy

Red light is different from FIR. It’s visible light, at a 0.7 μm wavelength, and on this mat it comes from 24 LEDs. It doesn’t produce any heat. Instead, it penetrates the tissue and gives the cells a boost of energy.

The TheraPro has a blend of crushed gemstones spread across the whole mat. When you lie down on it, they feel a bit like sand under your body.

TENS Therapy
90-110v
TENS uses electrical stimulation, sent through electrodes, to help relieve pain and ease tension. On this mat it runs between 90v and 110v. Very few mats offer it, and I think it’s a pretty cool feature. You also get 26 different intensity levels, so finding the right one for you shouldn’t take long.
What It’s Like to Own the TheraPro PEMF Mat
Every other part of this review comes with a number attached. This part doesn’t, and nothing in it will tell you whether the Therasage TheraPro PEMF Mat is a good mat or not. What it can tell you is whether you’ll still be lying on it a year from now, and to me that’s the question that matters.

How you control it
TheraPro Controller
The TheraPro mat comes with a controller, and from there you can set pretty much everything: the PEMF settings, the temperature, how long the session lasts, and the TENS intensity. It also remembers the last program you used, which is a nice touch.
What Settings Does the Therasage TheraPro PEMF Mat Have?
On the TheraPro you can choose between sine or square waveforms, so you can set the therapy the way you need it. There are also 9 preset programs, each with its own settings, so switching from one treatment to another is quick and easy.

They declare an intensity of 1100 Gauss, which is too high to be correct. And it better be wrong, because that would be too high for not being adjustable.
Special Functions
PULSE DURATION
All the manual says is that there are 3 settings. This might explain the 1100 Gauss of intensity. 1100 G is possible only if the signal is a pulse, but not on a continuous waveform with sinusoidal shape on a home plug, as they also declare.

Therasage TheraPro PEMF Mat Accessories
In the TheraPro box you get a carry bag and the TENS pads. There are no covers, which is a bit of a pity. So you’ll need your own towel, both to keep sweat and dirt off the mat and to keep the hot gemstones off your skin.
TheraPro Carry Bag
Good for storing the mat at home, for road trips, or for flying. It folds up and goes in there with all the peripherals. Take it on the plane with you, or fit it inside another bag or your luggage.
TENS Pads
Two TENS pads are in the box, and you can use them while the other therapies are running. You plug them into the socket on the controller, which gives you an extra 6 feet of range, and the controller gives you 26 intensity levels to choose from.
Therasage Warranty and Returns
Therasage gives you a 30 day money back guarantee, which is fine if you want to try the mat without risking anything. The warranty only lasts for one year though, and that’s pretty short compared to most other mats out there.

My FInal verdict
The TheraPro wins the race for the highest number of therapies by adding TENS to the list. Very few mats give you that, and here it comes with its own pads and 26 intensity levels, so you can work on a sore spot while the rest of the mat does its job.
Then you get full spectrum infrared, red light, gemstones, 9 preset programs, and a controller that lets you set most things yourself.
The short warranty is one of the downsides. One year isn’t much at this price, and I would have liked a cover in the box too. The fact that we don’t really know the intensity of this mat keeps the final rating down.
